Game of Thrones

Being a big fan of fantasy literature I have been neglecting this genre for awhile. Past five years were dedicated to software engineering books and classic Russian literature. So I decided to read something epic and “Game of Thrones” by George RR Martin did fit the bill perfectly. Especially with the series being on HBO it is getting wildly popular.

Not to spoil it for anyone I’ll say that this is not a typical “book about dragons” (in fact dragons died many years ago). Readers should expect more of a “behind the throne” story with a bit of adventuring and very rich characters. There are two more books in this trilogy A Clash of Kings and A Storm of Swords that continue the story.
